Wau-Color Reseda extract
50g can Wau-Color. You can achieve shades between yellow and olive.
Required amount: approx. 0.5-5.0% of the weight of the material to be dyed.
Required mordant for wool and silk: alum (approx. 10%)
Cellulose fabrics: approx. 3% tannin or tannin light, and then approx. 10% alum mordant.
WAU-COLOR is an extract from the above-ground parts of the mignonette plant, Reseda luteola L. On mordanted materials, it produces various shades from yellow to olive, and in combination with INDI-Color or HEMA-COLOR, it creates green tones. Dyer's reseda is a one- to two-year-old plant, native to Central and Southern Europe. The plant is one of the oldest dye plants in Europe and is known for the most lightfast yellow dyes.
