30 Years of Opal – The Anniversary Collection – The Beginnings

The beginnings? The first generation's tinker's workshop and the second generation's ideas workshop. Transformation - from white to colourful - has always been at the heart of it all. The printing works fulfils this wish. Once the colours have been set, the Opal takes a soothing steam bath, and then 4,250 metres of colourful yarn are transformed into a steam-refined wool cake - low in calories, of course. In the final step, the initially white yarn becomes a colourful, balled-up bundle of woolly love. Wool is art; Opal is a love of wool and handcrafts brought to life - in short, wool-based genetic madness.

The anniversary collection comprises eight magnificent and vibrant colourways and tells the story of the production and the passion behind the Opal brand.
