We recommend ordering color charts with the real fibers to get an idea of the colors and qualities. Selected, medium-fine wool quality - 27 mic * New Zealand merino wool is a short-fibre wool that is versatile. It is very suitable for felting, especially for objects and everyday objects such as slippers and carpets. A beautiful surface is created on which the grain of the wool is visible. The New Zealand raw wool is gently dyed in Germany in accordance with the Öko-Tex® Standard 100 in beautiful shades. The company is certified according to the GOTS standard. In our own factory, we process the dyed New Zealand wool into approx. 1 x 2 m fleece (corresponds to 1 kg). During carding, the fibers are loosened up and largely oriented in parallel. Impurities such as vegetables and very short fiber components of the raw wool are combed out. Fleece wool is kept short-fiber than combed wool. Therefore, spinning fleece wool requires experience. So it is only recommended for advanced spinners. *
The fineness of the wool is given in micromillimeters (mic). The number refers to the diameter of each individual fiber. The smaller the number, the finer the wool.
