Hema-Color Logwood extract, non-oxidized
10g Hema-Color Logwood Extract - this allows you to achieve shades from blue-violet to anthracite and black.
Required amount: approx. 0.5-5.0% of the weight of the material.
Required mordant for wool and silk: alum (approx. 10%)
Cellulose materials: approx. 3% tannin or light tannin, then approx. 10% alum mordant
HEMA-COLOR is the non-oxidized extract from the wood of the Brazilian logwood tree, Haematoxylum campechianum L. On aluminum- or iron-mordanted materials, this extract produces various shades from blue-violet to anthracite and black. The wood and extracts have been used for centuries in the leather and textile industries. The evergreen tree grows up to 15 m tall and originates from Central and South America.
