BRASI-COLOR is an extract made from the wood of the redwood tree Haematoxylum braziletto. With this mordant dye, various attractive red color shades can be achieved. The tree reaches heights of 5 to 8 m and is native to Central America. The wood was already used by the Mayas and Incas for dyeing and painting. In the ancient times, redwood pigments were also used in the illustration of books.
