Acid dye
Acid dyes are used to dye silk, wool, feathers, other protein fibers and nylon, and nothing works better! Jacquard acid dyes are extremely brilliant and colorfast. They are highly concentrated, powdered hot water dyes that produce even, uniform colors when dip-dyed. They are easy to leach out and do not fade when washed. In addition to dyeing yarns, fibers and fabrics, Jacquard acid dyes can also be fixed for direct painting or printing using steam.
Don't let the name put you off - the only acid involved is the white vinegar or citric acid you add to the dye bath.
