Ria van Els-Dubelaar is a textile person in heart and soul, but not a quilter in the classic sense of the word. Taking the original Old Dutch quilts as her starting point, she approaches quilts from a new perspective. In the gallery section of the book she shows an inventory of the works currently being made by Dutch designers and artists. Her book is a plea for complete freedom of choice in materials and techniques within the only criteria essential for the creation of quilts, layerin and connection.
